Melissa, stay-at-home mom

When our first child was eighteen months old, I left my job to become a stay at home mom. I hadn't realized how challenging it would be to keep coming up with new ways to entertain a toddler. When I started looking for activities for kids, the West Des Moines Library was ready for us with free story times, sign language classes, music classes, crafts, and puppet shows. The library staff kept me and my kids from going stir crazy on many long winter mornings. Now that our two kids are in elementary school and have their own library cards, they still make frequent visits to the library. They learned long ago that there's always something new to explore and check out at the West Des Moines Library.
