Katie, WDM

Moved back to WDM after 30 years. ...WDM library has been a big part in my healing process. Days spent in the library reading magazines. Just getting out of my apartment and being around people helped me on some of my worst days.  ...It's a peaceful place to forget your problems and fears. At least for a while. Continue to be grateful for the WDM library.

Book Club Kits

Book club titles available for lending to book discussion groups.

  • We have sets of titles, mostly fiction, previously read in our adult book club, Club Read.
  • If books are to be mailed from our library to you, a shipping and handling fee of $10 per set will be charged. An invoice will be included with your book shipment and should be paid upon receipt.
  • If books are picked up in person, NO handling fee is charged.
  • Each set of books is due back 8 weeks from the time they are shipped from or leave our library.
  • The borrower is responsible for replacing any lost or damaged books and notifying our library in the event that this occurs.
  • Books that are picked up in person may be put in a West Des Moines Public Library book bag. If the bag is not returned, you will be charged a $5.00 replacement fee.
  • Each book is numbered on the spine and it is recommended that you use this number to track which book each discussion participant has borrowed. We can provide a sample sign-up sheet.
