Katie, WDM

Moved back to WDM after 30 years. ...WDM library has been a big part in my healing process. Days spent in the library reading magazines. Just getting out of my apartment and being around people helped me on some of my worst days.  ...It's a peaceful place to forget your problems and fears. At least for a while. Continue to be grateful for the WDM library.

Meeting & Study Rooms

ROOMS DURING RENOVATIONS

The WDM Library will begin extensive renovations in Fall of 2019.  These will be done in several Phases through 2020 – exact dates are still being worked out, so please bear with us!

During some of these phases, certain Rooms may be unavailable for booking, so you may find them blocked off, or not listing altogether.  If you count on our rooms for regular meetings, tutoring or study groups, you will want to make other arrangements.

We have created this short list of some local room options.  It is not an exhaustive list.

Online Room Booking

Small Group Study Rooms

NOTE:  Sometime in Fall of 2019 (TBD), all the Second Floor study rooms (A-F) will be unavailable through the first phase – probably through Spring 2020.

There are six (6) Study Rooms located on the second floor, and a small meeting room on the first floor, with a varying range of capacity from 1 to 8 people. You can call 515-222-3403 (Reference Desk) or use our online booking system to book a room.

Note: Only five (5) of the rooms can be booked online, up to 12 hours in advance. To book on the same day, call 515-222-3403 (Reference Desk).

Use of the Study Rooms rooms is guided by our Study Rooms Policy. (In Adobe PDF)

Larger Meeting Rooms

NOTE:  Sometime in Fall of 2019 (TBD),  the Millie Knee Classroom will be unavailable for meetings through the first phase – probably through Spring 2020.

We have two (2) additional Meeting Rooms to accommodate larger groups.

  • The Millie Knee Classroom holds between 8 and 20 people, and is located on the second floor of the library.
  • The Community Room, located on the first floor of the library, holds up to 70.
  • You can make a request for one of these rooms using our online booking system, up to 72 hours in advance.
    • Note: this link is different than the Study Rooms booking link above, and requires an email address and phone number. These larger rooms require staff approval (you will be notified via email or phone).

The Community Room is subject to our Community Room Policy.

The Millie Knee Classroom is subject to our Study Rooms Policy.

Rooms are available for public use at no charge.  Behavior in all rooms is subject to our Library Conduct Policy.

You can also contact the Library at 515-222-3403 to verify availability and make a request over the phone.
