Requesting Checked-Out Materials That We Own
Library card holders may place a “request” on materials that are checked out. This service is available in-house, online (library card number and PIN required to place hold), via our mobile app, and by phone (515-222-3400). Patrons may also ‘request’ items that are on the shelf, to have them pulled and held for you. Patrons will be notified by phone or email when their items are ready to be picked up.
Holds waiting for pickup are put in a self-serve pickup area on the 1st floor. An item that is not picked up will be cancelled. Your requests can be put on “inactive status” during vacations.

Requesting Materials That We Do NOT Own
If the Library does not own an item you are looking for, you may request that we locate it for you. The Library may purchase the item OR borrow it from another location through our free-of-charge options, MOBIUS and PROSPECTOR. If the library is not able to purchase the title or borrow the item from another location with MOBIUS or PROSPECTOR, it may be borrowed via Interlibrary Loan for a $2.00 postage fee. Please indicate on the Item Request Form (below) if you are willing to pay this fee if we cannot obtain the item through our free-of-charge options.

A WDM Library Card number is required to make any request.
