Summer Finale featuring The Martika Show

UPDATE: Our Finale schedule for tomorrow is changing a bit due to future weather concerns. We will still host The Martika Show at the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater from 10:30 – 11:30 AM. Please bring lawn chairs and blankets with you to watch in case the grass is wet. The dunk tank, inflatable battle ax throwing and art projects have been canceled. We hope you’re still able to join us for Martika’s fabulous performance!

Celebrate the end of the 2021 Summer Reading Challenge! Dunk an elementary principal, try your hand at inflatable axe throwing, and create art with us. Be sure to visit the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater at 10:30 for our featured performance with Martika Daniels!

Internationally renowned and motivationally captivating, Martika and her one woman show hail from Kansas City, MO. Raised in a military family, Martika grew comfortable constantly moving about the globe from a young age. This exposure to international performers sparked her interest in the circus arts, and at the age of 8 she ignited her passion for the performing arts through training in jazz dance and classical ballet. Her passion for dance flourished when she discovered hula hooping. Constantly looking to push herself, in 2008 Martika sought out the best teachers to further her knowledge in fire arts,  escapology, and sideshow stunts. Since then she has been featured on numerous news outlets such as Lawrence Business Magazine, KCUR, FOX4 KC, and the top international wellness corporation, Wanderlust.
