Karl, Retired Pastor

The West Des Moines Library has empowered retirement days for me in two ways. One, I am able to read extensively in the newspaper and magazine sections. Two, I am able to borrow books to read rather than to purchase and keep in my now limited home library. An added feature is borrowing audiobooks to savor while I drive to visit family in other states.

Renovations: Study Room Alternatives

The WDM Library will begin extensive renovations beginning in October of 2019 at least through 2020.  These will be done in several Phases – exact dates are still being worked out, so please bear with us!

During some of these phases, certain Rooms may be unavailable for booking, so you may find them blocked off, or not listing altogether, on our online booking system.  If you count on our rooms for regular meetings, tutoring or study groups, you will want to make other arrangements.  Please see the list below or contact staff for other options.

Exam Proctoring:  we will be suspending this service during the room closures, but alternative locations are listed below and on our Exam Proctoring page.

Some Quiet/Study/Meeting Room Spaces in the Western Metro:

We appreciate your patience with the noise, dust and an disorganization while the next chapter in the WDM Library’s book is written. This list is provided as a courtesy to assist our patrons in finding compatible space to meet their needs during our building renovations beginning 9/1/19 and continuing until early summer 2020.
This list is not intended to be a full service guide to metro study space.
