Karl, Retired Pastor

The West Des Moines Library has empowered retirement days for me in two ways. One, I am able to read extensively in the newspaper and magazine sections. Two, I am able to borrow books to read rather than to purchase and keep in my now limited home library. An added feature is borrowing audiobooks to savor while I drive to visit family in other states.

Reading Logs

Our 2020 Summer Reading Club is live! To register, please visit our Summer Reading page (powered by Beanstack) and either sign up for a new (free) account or log in to your already-existing account. We have used Beanstack for reading programs over the past three years, so if you have participated in Summer Reading, Winter Reading, or Spring into Reading during that timeframe, you already have an account. If you need assistance logging into your account or resetting your password, feel free to email youthservices@wdm.iowa.gov or call 515-222-3405 during library hours and Youth Services staff will be delighted to assist you.

If you prefer to print your reading log and log your reading time on paper, you may do so from the Beanstack website or by downloading the reading logs for your age group below. We will be offering prize information via Beanstack, so we encourage you to log into the program and add your reading time there from time to time to receive updates.

Be sure to explore the other pages on this Summer Reading website to view online storytimes and find information about other fun programs we are offering this summer!
