Our one-year-old son had surgery and was in arm splints for 3 weeks. ...We could not have made it through that recovery period without the Children's Department at the West Des Moines Public Library! Our son loves books and while he was in the arm splints, his affinity for books grew even more, when playing with toys was more difficult.  Even now out of the arm splints, we return for more books, with new discoveries behind each cover. The West Des Moines Public Library is an invaluable resource to us as parents and a place our little one already loves.
