Children's Area

Coming soon! The Children’s Department of the West Des Moines Library is currently under renovation and is scheduled to open in Spring 2021. We are looking forward to welcoming you back to our refreshed space at that time. Until then, visit us on the second floor in our temporary home. You’ll find your friendly Youth Services staff, along with books, media items, and puzzles for children and teens.

Update 12/21/20:

As of today, the flooring is removed and the walls are painted in most of the Children's Area. Pretty soon we will start to see  new drywall, an HVAC update to the Story Room to help it stay warmer in the winter, new lighting along the exterior wall, and more! So exciting!
