The Summer Reading Club is presented by the West Des Moines Public Library to make reading over the summer even more fun! Readers of all ages are invited to track reading each day – 5 minutes or 5 hours, it all counts – for 35 days of reading over a ten-week period (May 23 – July 30). We have also included some fun learning activities, so be sure to check those out in Beanstack as you go!
Our Summer Reading Challenge is open to patrons of all ages—babies, kids, teens, and adults, everyone is welcome!
Track your reading and activities through the Beanstack app or on paper (paper reading logs available at the library or can be downloaded below and printed at home.)
New for 2022: Readers of all ages are invited to track each day that includes reading of any length—5 minutes or 5 hours, it all counts! We made this change to improve accessibility to the program and to optimize it for every age reader. To complete the challenge, readers must log 35 days of reading over a ten week period (May 23 – July 30). We have also included some fun learning activities, so be sure to check those out in Beanstack as you go!
Celebrate your reading with our Summer Reading Finale on July 30! This year’s Finale features water-based activities, so please come ready to get wet.
New users can download the app for iOS or Android, click on the app icon, search for “West Des Moines Public Library,” and create an account or log in using your Beanstack information. Returning users can login to the Beanstack app then sign up for the Summer Escape 2022 reading challenge.
