Happy National Library Week! (April 23 - 29, 2023)

National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. All types of libraries are celebrated for their work during this week- from school to public and academic to special, this week is a dedicated time for library staff and donors to shine. Here at WDM Library we'd like to especially thank our hardworking library staff for all they do! To say thank you, we sat down with four library staff members in our latest podcast episode to learn more about them and why library work is their calling.

Listen to "WDM Library Staff Celebrates National Library Week" below.

Celebrations during the week include:

Monday, April 24: Right to Read Day is a National Day of Action in support of the right to read. The State of America's Libraries Report is released, including Top Ten Most Challenged Books of 2022.

Tuesday, April 25: National Library Workers Day, a day for everyone to recognize the valuable contributions made by library workers.

Wednesday, April 26: National Library Outreach Day, a day the dedicated library professionals who are meeting their patrons where they are.
