Stories with Spotty: Interactive Books!

Hi, friends! My name is Spotty!

I love playing hide and seek. Every week, I find a new place to hide in the library and wait for all of my friends to find me! But here’s the thing. When I’m hiding, I have to be super quiet, so I can’t tell you about all the other things I love to do!

One of my very favorite things to do is READ, READ, READ! That’s why I decided to start this blog – a place where I can tell you about a few of my favorite books each week!

Today, I want to tell you about some interactive books -- books that ask you questions or let you help tell the story! There are sooo many awesome interactive books. But here are five of the most silly, most crazy, and most fun I have ever read:

1. The Book with No Pictures by B. J. Novak

A book with no pictures might sound boring... but this one is filled with all sorts of silly words. And the person reading you the book has to say every one. After all, that’s how books work!

2. I Will Chomp You! by Jory John

Uh oh! The monster in this book does not want you to turn a single page. But if you can make it to the end without getting chomped, you just might find a special treat.

3. Play This Book by Jessica Young and Daniel Wiseman

4. Tap the Magic Tree by Christie Matheson

It’s like magic how trees change colors, lose leaves, and make fruit! This book lets you tap, rub, touch, and wiggle the pictures and help make the magic happen.

5. Don’t Push the Button! by Bill Cotter

These books are HILARIOUS versions of famous stories like Cinderella, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and Jack and the Beanstalk. But there’s a twist: you get to decide what happens next!

I hope I get to see you in the library next week! See if you can find my new hiding spot and show me some of your favorite books!
