Stressing Over the Job Search? The WDM Library is Here to Help!

Are you feeling a bit overwhelmed with your job search? Do you want to polish up your resume or write a cover letter but aren’t sure where to start? Wondering how you can build some computer skills without figuring out where to take a class? The Library can help you with all of this and more!

We have plenty of fantastic resources that are at your fingertips through our Digital Library, including Brainfuse, Brainfuse JobNow, Infobase Learning Cloud, Job and Career Accelerator and LearningExpress Library

Brainfuse JobNow and Job and Career Accelerator are built especially for job seekers and contain tools to build your resume and cover letter, prepare for interviews and much more. Even if you aren’t a whiz at Microsoft Word, you can create and save a resume and cover letter to access from anywhere via the Internet. You can also explore occupations, as well as search for jobs and internships and apply on the spot. There’s even a tutorial to guide you through every step of the job search process.

LearningExpress Library has a wealth of resources to prepare for a new career and build core skills such as writing and math. You can also access test preparation for Civil Service exams, EMS and Firefighting exams, and many more. Infobase Learning Cloud has self-paced learning modules for Microsoft Office products, Adobe Creative Cloud, Zoom and much, much more – and all of it is self-paced learning that you can do on your own time, when it’s most convenient for you. Infobase also has online courses on topics like Google Classroom Essentials, How to build an effective leadership team, and even Successful Time Management.

All of these products are easy to access and very user-friendly. And you don’t even need a Library card to access them if you’re in the Library (although to access from home, you do need a valid Library card).

We’re happy to give you a “tour” of these resources. Just stop in the Library and ask at the Reference Desk, give us a call at 515-222-3403, or use the Contact Form at the bottom of this page.
