WDM Public Library Begins New Five-Year Strategic Plan

This year, the WDM Public Library embarked on a new strategic planning cycle to best position the library for community engagement and innovation from 2022 – 2027. With the help of local strategic planning firm, Bâton Global, we were able to develop a robust and thoughtful roadmap for the next five years that we are proud to share with our community.

Our strategic plan focuses on six areas of importance: Collections, Programming, Outreach, Spaces, Culture, and Stewardship. Bâton Global and the library worked through extensive surveys of the community, key stakeholder interviews, data from peer public libraries, and critical feedback from library staff to develop this plan. We extend a warm thank you to everyone who participated in the research process to ensure we were setting goals that meet the needs of West Des Moines residents.
