Yes! We're Participating in the Ballet Des Moines Community Ticketing Program!

We've heard your questions, and we're excited to announce that we are participating in the Ballet Des Moines Community Ticketing Program! This collaboration with the Iowa Library Association and Ballet Des Moines connects communities and lowers barriers for engaging in the arts.

Beginning this season, Ballet Des Moines will offer complimentary tickets to anyone (ages 7 and up) who hold a public library card. Averaging about 1000 tickets per performance, and while supplies last, library card holders will have access to one complimentary ticket for each of the Ballet Des Moines productions in the 25/26 season.

How it works:

Present your library card to the performance venue box office during the specified selection timeframes, generally a few weeks before the performances, select your seat and you’re all set! Each library card will be able to reserve one ticket.

Ticket Reservation Dates

Complimentary tickets will be available at the box office from 10AM - 5PM during designated date ranges listed below. Tickets are only available while supplies last.

  • The Nutcracker, October 27-December 5 (All complimentary tickets for the Nutcracker have been claimed.)
  • Nothing Holds Still, January 13-February 20
  • Cinderella, April 3-May 8

Due to the high volume of tickets facilitated during the night of the performance, venues will NOT be able to accommodate library card holder requests the night of the show.

About the partnership

This initiative is managed by Ballet Des Moines in partnership with the Iowa Library Association, with support from Hoyt Sherman Place and Des Moines Performing Arts.
