Special Election - Iowa State Senate District 16
Our library staff is happy to assist you with any questions you might have regarding the upcoming special election on December 30, 2025. The library will be an Early Voting site on Monday, December 15 between the hours of 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM in our Community Room. This is for Polk County voters only. Voters in precinct 227 of Dallas County do not currently have a petition for early voting.
We will NOT be a voting site on Election Day, December 30, 2025.

Need to Register?
Use the forms to your right to verify that you are registered and register to vote. We also have paper applications that can be mailed to your county auditor in time for December 30. You can also register at your county auditor's office. Find your county auditor's office here.

Voting via Absentee Ballot?
Applications for absentee ballots can be obtained online in a PDF format, or mailed upon request from the Secretary of State. You can also request a ballot by mailing the application to the county auditor/commissioner of elections in the county where you are registered.
Important Deadlines
- Monday, December 15 – Pre-registration Deadline; Deadline to Request Absentee Ballot to be Mailed received by County Auditor prior to 5:00 p.m. CT
- Monday, December 29 –Absentee Ballot In-Person Deadline
- Tuesday, December 30 – Absentee Ballots Receipt Deadline; Election Day
How Do I Vote on the Day-Of?
Polls are open on Election Day, December 30, from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. CST. Absentee ballots must be received in your county auditor’s office prior to 8:00 PM CST on Election Day.
