The SVdP in Des Moines provides personal assistance with food, clothing, educational and job training and other services to people facing economic, emotional or spiritual crises. SVdP also provides services for returning services or those directly impacted by incarceration through their Immersion program.

Supports children and families who have escaped domestic violence situations and those suffering from some other form of trauma including natural disaster and criminal assault. We provide donated furniture and household goods as these families begin new, independent, productive lives in safe environments.

The VA Central Iowa Health Care System (VACIHCS) operates a Veterans Health Administration (VHA) medical facility in Des Moines, with Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) around the state. The mission of the Veterans Justice Programs is to identify justice-involved Veterans and contact them through outreach, in order to facilitate access to VA services at the earliest possible point.
